Tell Us About Your Design

I was inspired by Matthew Lambro's Photography. He photographer abandoned hospitals, theaters, and outlets. Creating photographic obituaries, preserving their beauty. The shattered windows create a connection from the real world beyond the windows and the deteriorating walls. The shift dress print and lace placement embody that. The lace represents the chipping paint of the walls. The prints of the photographic print of Matthew Lambro's photograph of the chipped walls represents the reality that is coming through.

Who or What Were Your Biggest Inspirations During This Process?

My biggest inspiration is my father. His thought process and analysis of life are how I aspire to create my designs. Besides my father is Paul Gauguin, his Nativism painting style was inspired by the Tahitian natives around him. I pull from what's around me to direct me towards my next project.

Judges’ Rating: 3/5

Judges’ Comments: “Although the sketch is good, there is little detail regarding the fabric, fit, or design elements in the dress. The inspiration is very thorough, but I wish the designer would have gone the next step and talked about the elements of the design.” – Erin Souder
