Tell Us About Your Design
This two piece bikini was designed with Miami and it's vibrant colors in mind. The bottom is a eye popping lime green with a blue strap weaving in out and at the top of the hemline. Elastic sits around the leg openings for comfort as you move, sit or swim. Behind the lime green fabric it is lined with a net of lyrca and underwear lining of cotton. There is no band for the top hemline which gives the bottom a more flawless feel almost like you forget you're wearing a bikini bottom.
The top is reminiscent of a tropical fish in the ocean. It's made of a lyrca fabric in an iridescent blue which drapes comfortably over the bust. There is a lime green strap hides behind the draping so that it stays in place and ties in the back. A collar wraps around the neck for that halter feel with added elegance. Both top and bottom are stitched with zigzag stitch instead of straight stitch for an easy movement. Although the top may have no lining, there is added support from the thin padding under the bust as well as the collar around the neck.
Who or What Were Your Biggest Inspirations During This Process?
The life style of Miami was one of my inspirations because the beach goers and how colorful and vibrant each person wears their clothing is nothing short of sexy, short, fresh, appealing and high fashion. Whether they're out on the town, shopping or dining out, they are always dressed to impress.

Judges’ Comments: “I can definitely see this piece being worn in Miami and love the use of color. For presentation purposes, the bikini is gorgeous on its own and although the butterfly wings are beautiful, they are distracting from the bikini. I really like the collar of the bikini and the slit. However, as someone who is active on the beach, I’d be concerned for the front flaps to fly up. I’d either suggest sewing them to the bottom piece or stopping them just below the breast and sewing them to the slim neon green strap underneath. Overall a fun, sexy piece!” – Julie
I started doing clothes in elementary for barbie dolls and realized I wanted to move to adult clothing. I learned mainly from my grandmother who was an amazing seamstress and taught me a few things before she passed. I went to design school for about three years but was not able to graduate and have been designing clothing since.
