Tell Us About Your Design

Evening gown features a 3-layer chiffon halter top design with hand glass beaded & sequined collar piece and belt pieces. Beading and sequencing was done using traditional French tambour method. 50 yards of chiffon was hand cut into bias squares, hand dyed four different shades, and individually sewn on to create the technique for the skirt.

Who or What Were Your Biggest Inspirations During This Process?

Natural disasters served as the inspiration for this piece. I was thinking about the Fukushima disaster, and how it was created by an earthquake and resulting tsunami tidal wave. The movement of waves crashing and mist from the ocean were translated into my design.

Which Retailer(s) Would You Most Like to Sell Your Design?
